When buying puppies from us, we provide new owners with essential care information and a pack of goodies to help the puppy settle in. The aim of this thoughtful gesture is to help the puppies adjust to their new home smoothly and allows to offer expert advice on raising, feeding, and training the puppy. Therefore, a puppy pack should be understood as a collection of written information, advice and useful items that breeders give to new owners. These packs provide new owners with important paperwork about their dog and help guide them on how to raise their new puppy. Our puppy packs simply include a few thoughtful items that bring joy to the new owner and a wag to the puppy’s tail. They contain essential information (contract of sale, microchipping details etc.), information about vet treatments the puppy has had (vaccinations, worming treatments etc.), breed-specific information and advice on how to care for the puppy as they grow up. As well as these essentials, we include toys, food, treats, and other interesting items. Following is the list of a few items that you could find in our customized puppy pack:
Essential paperwork
There are several important documents that will be given to you. These include:
- Contract of sale – As responsible breeder, we do have a puppy contract that outlines details of the puppy, breeder details, owner details and any arrangements that we will agree to. Having a contract gives us and the puppy buyer a degree of protection and ensures that any contractual issues are agreed upon by all parties.
- Microchipping details – All our dogs are microchipped before they are 8 weeks old, which means that we provide new puppy buyers with microchipped puppies at the time of pick-up. Each puppy’s unique microchip number is registered with a microchipping database, along with our contact details. Once you’ve collected your pup, it’s imperative that you update the contact details to your own.
- Health screening results – We will provide you with a copy of the test results of your pup.
- Our contact information – As a responsible breeder, we’re available to help puppy buyers at any time, should they have any questions about pup health, training, diet, socialization or any pup related issue.
- A two-year health guarantee – that clearly outlines the health conditions covered, buyer responsibilities and what steps to take should a problem arise.
- Puppy pedigree registration certificates (to be provided later) – Once we receive confirmation and evidence of spaying/neutering, we’ll provide you with the official pedigree registration certificates of your puppy. These certificates display documentation of your puppy’s lineage and pedigree. Note that these certificates are delivered to us by WALA (Worldwide Australian Labradoodles Association).
Pup vet visits and treatment details
To help with the continued care of the pup, it’s essential that the pup’s future vet knows what treatment has been given and when. Therefore, the following is included in the pup package:
- Details of any vaccines that have been given, including the brand and when boosters are next required.
- Worming treatments, including when and which products were used.
- Details of any vet visits.
- Information about any medical treatment that’s been needed.
Miscellaneous
- Breed-specific information (within the booklet).
- Advice for new pup owners, that are concerned with training, feeding/diet information/feeding schedule, grooming, socialization, habituation and exercise (within the booklet).
- Information on how to handle the early days of your pup (within the booklet).
- Information on toilet training, on choosing the right puppy food, on child safety around puppies and dogs (within the booklet).
- Something that smell their mother and litter (a blanket that we recommend the buyer to provide us a week before the puppy is due to be rehomed).
- A toy that could be a ball, a tug toy, a plush toy, a squeaky toy or something to help when teething.
- Food – when moving to another home, the last thing your puppy needs is an upset stomach. Switching to a new food, particularly when they may be stressed, could give the puppy diarrhea. Therefore, having a supply of the food they are used to for a few days can really help. Additionally, we strongly recommend new buyers to follow our food and diet recommendation presented in the booklet.
